Yes! You heard me correctly. I did mean to say that. 😁
I hope this finds you in good health and high spirits. This week, I want to share an important lesson I have learned.
Recently I was reminded that I needed to just sit, be quiet, and observe. Our minds can often be filled with chatter, doubts, and questions, making it challenging to embrace silence. Stillness, however, can make us more receptive and aware of our surroundings, just as I experienced by the serene waterside next to the stag.
These moments of stillness don’t entail a lack of progress or doing nothing. On the contrary, they allow us to think, process, and achieve a sense of calm and clarity amid turbulence. For those of us who often fill silences with noise, especially when in discomfort or in the company of new people, this silent space provides a much-needed retreat.
Thinking of all that we’ve done or need to do isn’t what makes us important. It’s being present, being mindful, and knowing that our worth isn’t tied to a checklist. As The Wizard of Oz taught us, courage, wisdom, and love are internally nurtured through experiences rather than just actions.
Instead of rushing into action when faced with a challenge or crisis, it can be beneficial to consciously take a pause, assess the situation and then decide on the best course of action. The popular saying “Don’t just do something. Stand there” incorporates the wisdom of patience.
