Lately we’ve been talking a lot about change. This week’s meditation is to help you visualize the change you want to make in your life.

Think meditation is hard? Do me a favor: take a slow, deep breath in and now breathe out. Congratulations! You just meditated. Hi, I’m Krystal Jakosky and this is Breathe In, Breathe Out: a Weekly Mindfulness and Meditation Podcast for anyone ready to own their own shit…and find a little peace while doing it.
Welcome back to Breathe In, Breathe Out. I’m Krystal Jakosky] and I love that you’re here. This week is a guided meditation kind of walkthrough for change. To help you visualize and come up with the steps that you need to do. I encourage you to have a journal or your computer handy.
Because I highly recommend that at the end of this, you write down your thoughts and your experience. And the goals and the steps that you have come up with so that it’s there and present, and you can see it and draw from it and be reminded all the time about where you want to be and how you can get there.
So take a moment, take a deep breath all the way into the belly and then let it out. And I want you to keep breathing deep. As we do this exercise. Just that nice deep cleansing breath in and the full healing exhale all the way out. As you sink into this moment.
Read MoreMaybe it’s brand new and it has that new car smell. Is there a driveway?
Think of the colors that are there. In this life that is perfect for you. What kind of food are you eating? Think about all of it. Maybe you can smell it. That deliciousness just fills your senses. Maybe you can taste it. All the spices, the textures. Maybe feast with your eyes before you even lift the utensil to your mouth? What are you eating in your most joyful life?
What does it smell like? Do you live more in the city or the mountains or the country or the ocean? Where? What smells exist, where you live? Maybe they’re smells from nature. Maybe they’re smells from vehicles. Maybe they’re smells from restaurants. Just pull it all in.
The sounds. What sounds and noises do your ears pick up? What do they bring in? From the near ones that are right there to the ones that are further away. Take a moment and imagine what clothes you would wear, in your best life.
What do you do for income? That brings you joy and helps you feel just, uh, I love going to work every single day. And what clothes would you wear for that?
What hobbies will you be enjoying? What will you get to do when all of the have to’s are done? Can you see it? Can you feel it? Let it all come in. Make it as detailed and real as you possibly can.
Your truest, most authentic life. Notice your posture. See and feel the emotion coming off. The You in this wonderful space. What emotions do you experience? Perhaps you’ll even notice more impressively, the emotions that are absent. Or diminished compared to now. Freedom. Peace. Deep Breath. You, in this space.
While you’re sitting here in this space, take a moment and just ask the question. What are steps? What do I need to do right now? That can help move me towards this. What do I need to do to move towards my best life? What achievable goals and little steps can I take, to move me in the direction I want to be?
Allow your answers. Allow your insight. Allow things to come in and be present and just sit with you.
And when you feel like you have enough for now. Then you’re going to come back. You’re going to open your eyes and you’re going to grab your choice of journaling stuff and write down everything.
Be descriptive. Get every single detail. Can you be technical on the names of the colors and the smells? And when you’re done writing and describing what it felt like to live your best life. Then make sure that you write down also, the steps that you can take right now. The actions that you can take towards you, towards your joy.
Own who you are, and then own who you look forward to be. They may be the same person. It may be that right now, you are in a beautiful place and that you just want to continue living exactly that life.
And it may be that that life seems a world away and really challenging. I still encourage you to take those little steps. One little step and then another, and then another, because those little steps all add up. And before you know it, you have a giant snowball and then you have a big ball to make a snowman, and it’s just beautiful. And everyone gets to enjoy it and you get to laugh.
So I really, really hope that you take a moment for you. I really hope that you post this. Post your journal writings, post your information somewhere that you will be reminded of it every day. Reminded of the little steps you need to do. Reminded of the opportunity that can be there. This is all up to you. You get to prepare for the opportunity of a lifetime.
I hope that you enjoyed the activity. I hope that you return to it as often as you want to and just keep building on this amazing life that you can create.
